A clearer way to authorise
PayTo is an Australian payment service built on the New Payments Platform. It allows a business to request an agreement to debit a customer’s bank account, with the customer authorising that agreement through their bank.
The agreement sets out who is being paid and the payment terms. It can support a single payment or an ongoing arrangement, without relying on a stored credit card.
Clarity. Authorisation. Control.
PayTo lets a business initiate payments from an Australian bank account under an agreement authorised by the account holder. No card is needed.
PayTo supports real-time payment processing and notifications, helping businesses confirm payment status. A provider’s payout schedule is separate from payment confirmation.
Review and authorise the payment agreement in your own supported internet or mobile banking. You do not give the supplier your banking password.
View, pause or cancel agreements through your bank. Payments must follow the authorised terms; cancelling an agreement does not cancel an underlying invoice or contract.
From agreement to payment
The business creates a PayTo agreement identifying the payee, amount or limits, and payment timing. One-off and recurring arrangements are possible.
Your bank asks you to review the agreement. Check the payee and terms, then approve it through your banking service before payments can be initiated.
The business initiates payments within those terms. Payment success depends on factors including available funds, account eligibility and bank or provider checks.
For procurement & accounts teams
PayTo can support different business payment arrangements. Any use for an EMG order would first need to be agreed and made available through a connected payment provider.
An agreement may authorise a single payment for an invoice or deposit.
An ongoing agreement can specify recurring payments and approved limits.
Scheduled or variable payments can be supported within the agreement and provider capabilities.
