    Overview

When standard fasteners don't meet your requirements, our special fasteners division provides custom-engineered solutions. From gas turbine bolting in superalloys to custom anchor bolts for civil infrastructure, we manufacture to your drawings and specifications. Our capabilities include CNC machining, hot forging, and specialized thread forms, all backed by comprehensive EN 10204 3.1 documentation and PMI verification.

EMG manufactures custom fasteners in over 50+ superalloy and specialty materials — including Inconel 718, Waspaloy, and MP35N — with first article inspection and full PMI verification on every component.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

    Technical FAQs

What materials are used for gas turbine bolts?

    +
Gas turbine bolts are typically manufactured from precipitation-hardened superalloys such as Inconel 718, Waspaloy, A286, and Nimonic 80A. These materials maintain their strength and creep resistance at temperatures exceeding 650°C, which is essential for turbine casing and rotor bolting where thermal cycling and sustained high temperatures are the norm.

Can you manufacture fasteners from customer drawings?

    +
Yes. We regularly manufacture custom fasteners from customer drawings and specifications. Our process includes engineering review, material procurement with full traceability, CNC machining or hot forging, dimensional inspection, and comprehensive testing. First article inspection reports (FAIR) are provided for initial production runs.

What is a 12-point flange head bolt and when is it used?

    +
A 12-point flange head bolt has a twelve-sided head that provides a larger bearing surface than a hex bolt and allows higher torque application. They are commonly used in gas turbine assemblies, compressor casings, and other applications where high clamping force and precise tensioning are required in confined spaces.

Do you supply anchor bolts and foundation bolts?

    +
Yes. We supply straight, bent, and hooked anchor bolts to ASTM F1554 (Grade 36, 55, and 105) and custom specifications. Anchor bolts can be supplied hot-dip galvanized per ASTM A153 or with other corrosion protection coatings. All anchor bolts include full material certification and dimensional verification.
