    Overview

Our heavy hex bolt range covers structural bolting for steel connections through to mechanical grade fasteners for equipment assembly. We supply hex bolts in partial and full thread configurations, complete with matching nuts and washers where required. All bolts are manufactured to ASTM, ISO, or DIN specifications and supplied with full EN 10204 3.1 material certification, ensuring traceability for safety-critical applications.

EMG supplies hex bolts in over 50+ material grades — from ASTM A325 structural to Inconel 718 — with dimensional inspection to ASME B18.2.1 and full EN 10204 3.1 material certification.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

    Technical FAQs

What is the difference between ASTM A325 and A490 hex bolts?

    +
ASTM A325 bolts are medium-carbon steel with a minimum tensile strength of 120 ksi (827 MPa), used for general structural connections. ASTM A490 bolts are alloy or martensite steel with a minimum tensile strength of 150 ksi (1034 MPa), used where higher strength is required. A490 bolts should not be galvanized due to hydrogen embrittlement risk.

Can you supply hex bolts to both imperial and metric standards?

    +
Yes. We supply hex bolts to imperial standards (ASTM A325, A490, ASME B18.2.1) and metric standards (ISO 4014, ISO 4017, DIN 931/933). All bolts are supplied with EN 10204 3.1 material certification regardless of dimensional standard.

Do you supply matching nuts and washers with hex bolt orders?

    +
Yes. We supply complete bolt sets including matching heavy hex nuts (ASTM A194 or A563) and hardened washers (ASTM F436 or F844). Components are matched by material grade and can be supplied with consolidated certification for complete traceability.

What hex bolt grades are suitable for high-temperature service?

    +
For elevated temperature service, ASTM A193 B16 (chrome-moly-vanadium) hex bolts are recommended for sustained temperatures up to 593°C. For temperatures above this, A453 Grade 660 or Inconel 718 hex bolts provide superior creep resistance and bolt load retention.
