What are API 20E and API 20F?
API 20E
API 20E is the industry specification for alloy and carbon steel bolting used in the petroleum and natural gas industries. It defines comprehensive requirements for qualification, manufacturing, traceability, documentation, inspection and testing to ensure reliability and performance in critical applications. This specification covers BSL-1, BSL-2, and BSL-3 quality levels.
API 20F
API 20F is the companion specification covering corrosion-resistant bolting used in petroleum and natural gas environments. It addresses requirements for nickel alloys, super duplex stainless steels, and other CRA materials with stringent BSL-2 and BSL-3 quality levels for critical subsea and HPHT applications.
