Gas Plant Shutdown: ASTM A193 B7 / A194 2H Stud Bolt Kits Air Freighted on an Urgent Lead Time

Overview

A gas processing facility entered a planned shutdown with a bolting scope that grew once flanges were opened and inspected. Additional ASTM A193 B7 stud bolts and matched ASTM A194 2H heavy hex nuts were required across multiple flange classes, with no tolerance for a schedule slip once the plant was down.

Challenge

Shutdown bolting demand is rarely fully known before joints are broken. The site needed certified B7/2H kits in a range of diameters and lengths, mill certified and fully traceable, faster than any standard sea freight or domestic manufacturing route could deliver. Any delay in bolting would have stalled reinstatement and extended lost production.

Solution

EMG released studs and nuts against verified mill certification, sleeved each stud in protective mesh so threads survived handling on a congested site, crated the order by joint and diameter with clear identification tags, and air freighted the consignment directly to the plant. Documentation was issued electronically ahead of the physical delivery so the client's QA team could clear the material on arrival.
