Nearly 7,000 kg of B7/2H Stud Bolts Ocean Freighted to an Oil & Gas Job Site

Overview

A new oil and gas client placed a large project order with Energy Materials Group: nearly 7,000 kg of A193 B7 stud bolts with A194 2H heavy hex nuts, ranging from 5/8" up to 2-1/2" in diameter. Every item was zinc plated to ASTM B633-11 to the client's specification. The order was supplied on time, packed in accordance with the client's requirements and ocean freighted to the job site.

Challenge

Large petrochemical projects need stud-bolt packages in many diameters and lengths, all matching the specified grade, coating and packing requirements. A nearly 7,000 kg requirement spanning 5/8" to 2-1/2" diameters leaves no room for substitution: the client's specification called for B7 bolting with 2H heavy hex nuts, zinc plated to ASTM B633-11, and packing that suited ocean freight to a job site.

Solution

EMG supplied the complete B7/2H package to the client's specification, coordinating zinc plating to ASTM B633-11 across the full size range. The components were packed in accordance with the client's requirements and shipped by ocean freight to the job site, arriving on time. Compliance & Documentation

ASTM A193 B7 covers alloy steel bolting for high temperature or high pressure service, and ASTM A194 2H covers heavy hex nuts in the same service class; both are normally supplied in the hardened and tempered condition.
