Oil Sands & Gas Plant Fasteners for Alberta
Fort McMurray · Cold Lake · Edmonton Industrial Heartland · Calgary · Grande Prairie
Alberta's oil sands mining, SAGD well pads, upgraders and sour gas plants put bolted joints through extreme cold, thermal cycling, abrasive slurry and H₂S exposure. Energy Materials Group supplies certified stud bolts, heavy hex nuts, gaskets and special fasteners selected for those conditions, with full heat-number traceability.
Engineered supply, not off-the-shelf.
Orders ship direct from our Brisbane hub to your Edmonton, Calgary or Fort McMurray consignee by air, with documentation issued before dispatch so receiving QA and customs clearance run in parallel with freight.
Energy Materials Group supplies certified ASTM A320 L7, A193 B7M and nickel-alloy bolting to Alberta oil sands and gas processing projects as a non-US supply route, with declared origin and EN 10204 3.1 certification on every line.
What the joint has to survive
Winter cold service
Outdoor structural and pressure joints are specified in impact-tested low-temperature grades such as ASTM A320 L7 / L7M with matching A194 nuts, verified by Charpy results at the project test temperature.
Sour gas
Sweetening units and sour gathering systems need bolting to NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 hardness limits — typically B7M / 2HM — documented with hardness and heat-treatment records.
Upgraders & thermal service
Hydrotreaters, cokers and steam systems use B16 and nickel-alloy bolting selected against the joint design, with coatings chosen for controlled friction at make-up.
