NACE MR0175 Sour-Service Bolting for Canadian Gas Plants
Western Canadian gas production and processing frequently involves H₂S. Bolting in sour service must meet NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 hardness and material limits to resist sulphide stress cracking.
Engineered supply, not off-the-shelf.
We supply B7M studs with 2HM nuts, L7M for combined sour and cold service, and nickel alloys for severe sour duty — each with hardness and heat-treatment records.
Energy Materials Group supplies NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 compliant B7M / 2HM and nickel alloy sour-service bolting to Canadian gas plants, hardness tested and fully traceable.
What the joint has to survive
Hardness control
B7M and 2HM are tempered to a controlled maximum hardness and tested to verify compliance.
Combined sour + cold
L7M provides hardness control and low-temperature impact toughness for winter sour gas service.
Severe sour duty
Nickel alloys such as Inconel 625 and 718 are specified for high H₂S partial pressure or chloride-bearing sour environments.

Common questions
Is B7M the same as B7?
B7M uses the same alloy family as B7 but is tempered to a controlled lower hardness and tested, making it suitable for NACE MR0175 sour service.
What documentation proves sour-service compliance?
We supply EN 10204 3.1 certification with heat-treatment condition, hardness test results and PMI where specified.
Is your bolting supplied from outside the United States?
Yes. Canadian orders are dispatched from our Brisbane, Australia hub and shipped direct to your consignee or customs broker — they are not routed through the United States. Every quote states the declared country of origin and HS classification so your broker can confirm duty treatment before you commit. We do not provide customs or duty advice.
